Brooklyn — Barbara Marye Repko, 77, of Brooklyn passed away peacefully June 28, 2016, at Pierce Memorial Baptist Home in Brooklyn.

Barbara was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on June 26, 1939. She was a graduate of St. Benedict’s High School in Cambridge, Ohio, and graduated with a biology major from St. Louis University. Barbara enjoyed gardening and had been a member of Mystic and Brooklyn, Conn., garden clubs. She enjoyed sailing and going to the beach and had been a member of the Mason’s Island Yacht Club. She spent her free time designing and building her miniature doll house. She loved to play bridge. Barbara enjoyed going to dog shows with her dachshunds. For many years, Barbara owned and enjoyed working at her store in downtown Mystic named Fripperies. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Trent J. Repko; sons, Trent Jr. of Colchester and Michael C. Repko and his wife, Jane, of Washington Crossing, Pa.; daughter, Amy L. Brainard and husband Christophe­r, and her grandchild­ren, Connor and Evelyn Brainard of Powell, Ohio; daughter, Melia A. Schmauk and husband, Alex, and her granddaugh­ter, Elsa Schmauk of Cheltenham, Pa.

Barbara requested there be no public funeral or memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributi­ons be made to Pierce Memorial Baptist Home, 44 Canterbury Road, Brooklyn, CT 06234.
