Dennis Perry

Lisbon — Dennis S. Perry, 69, of Lisbon, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 22, 2016, at his home.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, at Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich.

Dennis was born on Sept. 28, 1946, in Brockton, Mass., to Avilla and Della Perry. He graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1965, where he wore #32 as quarterback for the NFA Wildcats football team. Shortly after marrying his high school sweetheart, Joyce Gomes-Portis, they were blessed with a daughter, Kristina Lynn.

He had a passion for music and was the lead singer in the band Magic, best known for many years as the house band at the Groton Motor Inn. Dennis was blessed with a second chance at love when he met and married Eileen Landry. They were married for over 20 years. Eileen continued to love, support and care for Dennis until his last day.

As one of the top salesmen for Don Mallon Chevrolet for over 25 years, we would often find his handsome face and charming smile printed within the pages of the Norwich Bulletin acknowledging his accomplishments. After Dennis retired from M.J. Sullivan Automotive Corner in 2010, he devoted his time to caring for his mother. We will best remember him as a loving and kind man with a gentle spirit and a wonderful sense of humor.

Dennis has been survived by his daughter, Kristina Fuller and her husband, David Fuller, of Atlanta, Ga,; his sons, Brock Dozier and his wife, Amanda Dozier, of Camarillo, Calif., and Andrew Perry of Hull, Mass.; five grandchildren, Kevin Thomas, Ashley Fuller, Sydney Dozier, Isaac Dozier, and Cody Dozier; and a great-grandchild, Kyrie Thomas. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews; his mother, Della Perry of Norwich; his brother, Larry Perry of Virginia; and sister, Sandra Perry DaSilva of Norwich.

He was preceded in death by his father, Avilla Perry, and sister, Diane Francis.
