More food workshops in the can
Thames Valley Sustainable Connections has two October programs planned in its Food and Canning Workshop Series at St. James Episcopal Church, 76 Federal St., New London.
From 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, Nicole Totino-Clark will cover the art of making sauerkraut in a workshop called “Intro to Fermented Foods.”
Saturday, Oct. 22, from 1 to 3 p.m., Elizabeth Spurr leads “Home Canning Basics,” on how to make homemade apple sauce.
More workshops will be held in November and December. The events are sponsored by St. James, Fiddleheads Natural Food Coop and New London Field of Greens.
