Re-elect Rep. Diana Urban in the 43rd; reject Nick Mullane
This letter supports Diana Urban as the incumbent candidate for the 43rd Connecticut District House of Representatives contested by her opponent, Nick Mullane. I am compelled to question Mullane’s goals while briefly underscoring Diana’s achievements.
Diana has always opposed issues that raise taxes while increasing opportunities for the betterment of children and animals. Her investigation of Amistad is a prime example of a legislator concerned enough to bring clarity and honesty to light.
In contrast, Mullane has bludgeoned his way through the local budget and blocked progress. His obstructionism regarding a business district near I-95, tax enhancements to attract and keep businesses like Posi-Seal, and working with the Mashantucket leadership and Foxwoods are well-documented, and negative leadership is not helpful to southeastern Connecticut.
Diana has championed animal rights and challenged the uses of toxic chemicals; both issues impacting all of us, but of particular concern to an area that still relies on agriculture and farming for a significant portion of its lifeblood.
Diana Urban is the only sane choice in this election. She is the candidate concerned with her constituents, rather than with personal political power, which has always seemed to be Mullane’s main goal. Frederick Souza Stonington
