East Lyme Aquatics & Fitness Center Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course — Dec. 27-30, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.; to be eligible for the class, participants must be at least 15 years of age, be able to swim 300 yards continuously, tread water for two minutes with just their legs and complete a timed event involving a 10-pound brick. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an American Red Cross certificate that is valid for two years.
