Cesar Millan’s Lessons From the Pack: Stories of the Dogs Who Changed My Life
Cesar Millan, with Melissa Jo Peltier National Geographic
This isn’t a book that’ll change your world, but for dog fans (count me among them), it’s like a warm hug. It does, after all, reinforce the ways that dogs are wonderful. The Dog Whisperer shares tales of his personal life and his canines and explores what humans can learn from their pets. Readers get segments on “how dogs practice wisdom,” for instance, and “how dogs develop confidence.” Millan cites a variety of interesting studies, too; one shows that dogs do have empathy and another that pet owners have lower levels of fearfulness and obsession than people who don’t own pets.
