Mariners riding a wave

• The Mitchell College baseball team is in the also receiving votes category in the first New England Collegiate Baseball Association poll this spring. The Mariners are off to an 11-6 start. The New England Collegiate Conference honored junior Bryton Ferris and Jakari Pellegrini as its pitcher and rookie of the week. The pair led the Mariners to a 4-1 week. Ferris posted a 2-0 record with a 0.00 earned run average, allowing five hits in 12 innings. It is his second weekly award this season. Pellegrini, a pitcher, made two appearances, going 1-0 with a 2.25 earned run average. On the season, Ferris is 4-0 with a league leading 1.05 earned run average. Senior Francis Prettitore (22 RBI), juniors Garet Griffin (20) and Kyle Hartenstein (19) are the top three run producers in the NECC.

• Junior Danielle Autieri and sophomore Suzanne Vachon are the leading offensive players through seven games for the softball team. Autieri is batting .353 with a team-best four RBI in seven games while Vachon has a team-high .500 average with three RBI for the Mariners (2-5).

• McCarthy Brodaski, a senior from East Lyme, has scored 14 of the men's lacrosse team's 27 goals so far this season. The Mariners are 1-4. Camel highlights

• Connecticut College will induct four members into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday. Gabby Petrill Beltz (women's hockey), Gaar Talanian (men's hockey), Alex Samma (men's track) and Lisa Kingman Forness (gymnastics) comprise the Class of 2016.

• The sailing team qualified for the New England Team Racing Championship with a strong performance last weekend at the Staake Team Racing Trophy Regatta in Rhode Island. The Camels finished second with a 13-7 record. Skippers for the Camels were: Hugh MacGillivray, Ragna Agnerup, Cooper Nefsky, Walt Florio, Gwynie Dunlevy and Carter Pemberton.

• The women's water polo team honored seniors Brianna Harrity and Sarah Sovia prior to the team's Sunday's match against Grove City.
