Stonington — Roberta “Birdie” Reardon, 67, of 103 Circle Drive, Stonington, passed away on March 15, 2017, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Steven A. Reardon; her sons, Michael Monk and his wife, Wendy, William Monk, Steven J. Reardon and his wife, Nina; grandchildren, Stephanie, Joseph, Brian and Sara Monk, Victoria Roberts, Ella and Vivian Reardon; sisters, Lorraine Suckow and her husband, Bob, Irene Hill; and brother, Robert Pia and his wife, Teresa; her sister-in-law, Maureen Reardon and her husband, Richard Leiss; her brothers-in-law, Jim Reardon and John Curry; and several nieces and nephews.
Birdie was an LPN at Lawrence + Memorial, having retired in 1999, where she was a caring nurse and patient advocate. She was a wonderful cook; she spent many hours in the kitchen making dinners, jams, and delicious treats to share with family and friends. With a quick wit and a great sense of humor, she was always one to “tell it like it is” to the amusement of those lucky enough to know her. She was a dedicated and generous mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, at the Waterford Country Club.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
