Norwich — Ronald Nicholas Tosti, 60, died suddenly at the William W. Backus Hospital on Friday, April 28, 2017.

He was born in Kingston, N.Y., on Dec. 7, 1956, to Ronald L. and Charity Tosti.

Ron proudly served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam; he last worked as a petroleum plumber for Service Station Equipment. In his younger years, he enjoyed taking his son hunting and fishing. Ron had a big heart and touched many lives; he loved riding his motorcycle and would often ride in children’s charity runs or to Harry’s for a burger. In both life and death, Ron unselfishl­y donated to many causes; his last was in the donation of his eyes.

Ron is survived by his father, Ronald Lester Tosti of Wyoming; his son and daughter-in-law, Mariano Tosti and Amy J. Walsh of Norwich; brother, Andre Tosti of New York; sisters, Jody Tosti of New York and Kimberly Tosti of Pennsylvan­ia.

He was predecease­d by his mother, Chasity (Arias) Tosti.

A calling hour will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 8, followed by an 11 a.m. service with military honors, at Belmont Funeral Home, 144 S Main St., Colchester. Burial will be private at the convenienc­e of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
