According to police, Crone was driving east on Route 6 about 10 p.m. when his 2011 Chevrolet Cruze crossed the line. It first hit the driver’s side of a 1988 Lincoln Town Car, which had only a driver inside. It then collided with a 2000 Nissan Maxima carrying three people.
Debris from the first collision struck a third vehicle, a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe K1. That vehicle also had only the driver inside.
Medical personnel pronounced Crone dead on scene. Others involved in the crash had minor or no injuries. The investigation is ongoing. Palmiero is due in Norwich Superior Court June 27.
