Todd E. Andrews has become the newest principal of Centerbrook Architects & Planners. Andrews came to Centerbrook in 1996 upon graduation from Syracuse University School of Architecture. A resident of Deep River, Andrews’ diverse design experience includes buildings that support and enhance education, learning, research, worship and community. A principal focus has been his work on more than 20 projects at world-renowned Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.
Andrews joins the firm’s principal group that includes Jefferson B. Riley, Mark Simon, Chad Floyd and Jim Childress. He is the first new principal to join the firm’s ownership since Childress in 1996.
Centerbrook also announced that Associate Principals Justin Hedde and Elizabeth Hedde of Stonington will join the five principals as part of the firm’s senior leadership team. In other firm news, Mark Herter of Waterford and Reno Migani of Guilford were named associate principals while David O’Connor of Rocky Hill, Agatha Vastakis Pestilli of Meriden and Andrew Santaniello of Middletown were promoted to senior associate.
Kimberly Hodges of Waterford has joined Estrela Consulting’s college planning team. Hodges, who currently serves as the director of domestic and international admission at Saint Bernard School in Uncasville, has more than 20 years experience working in both secondary and higher educational settings.
Estrela Consulting has experienced significant growth as demand for expert guidance and support has risen with the increasing complexity of the college search and application process. The Dominion Foundation has donated $10,000 to The Arc New London County’s vocational/employment training program for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Funds will be used to offset the costs of a commercial bakery oven that will be part of the cookie production component of The Arc’s Culinary Arts program.
The Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation is dedicated to improving the physical, social and economic well-being of the communities served by its companies. Together, Dominion Energy and the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation make annual awards to causes that protect the environment, promote education and help meet basic human needs.
Eastern Savings Bank recently pledged $25,000 to the United Community Families & Services Capital Campaign, a five-year commitment, which will help fund construction of their Griswold Health Center. UCFS has been providing health care and community services to individuals and families in Eastern Connecticut since 1877.
The Eastern Connecticut Association of Realtors was awarded a $2,500 grant from the National Association of Realtors’ Housing Opportunity Program to support activities that create and expand affordable housing opportunities. The grant will be used to educate potential home buyers on the benefit of using a Realtor throughout the homebuying process, how to reduce debt and financially prepare for buying a home, and what loan programs are available help to make homeownership affordable.
With emphasis on real estate being local, the grant will be used to host and promote the three-part symposia in Killingly, Norwich, and Groton.
