She was born in Norwich on Feb. 10, 1924, to the late Joseph and Anna (Bulka) Abugel. For 92 years she lived in the same neighborhood that she was born, moving to Masonicare in Mystic after the death of her husband. Her primary focus in life was being a loving wife and mother, but through the years she was employed at Lee & Osgood, Trachtenberg’s, Mr. Big’s, Grant’s and Norwich Saving Society, like her, all now memories in Norwich history.

Anna is survived by her children, Gregory (Deborah) Shillo of Bloomfield and Fishers Island, N.Y., Susan (Barry) Egan of Guilford and Thomas (Dianna) Shillo of Fishers Island, N.Y. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Katherine Shillo Beardsley (Nicholas), Sean Shillo, Bronya Shillo, Lisa Egan (and fiancé, Brian Henson) and David Shillo. Last month Anna had the pleasure of meeting her great-granddaughter, Gunnison Grey Beardsley.

The family would like to thank her loving caregiver, Janet, who greatly enhanced the quality of her life during her last month.
