Veronica Harris

Mystic — Veronica J. Harris, 92 , of Nantucket Drive, Mystic, died Saturday at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London.

She was born April 22, 1925, in Newton Upper Falls, Mass., the daughter of Paul and Anna Stanieich, and was married to the late Victor H. Harris.

Mrs. Harris had worked for many years as a secretary for the Groton Housing Authority.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane Pahl of Delanson, N.Y. and Cheryl Bartlett of East Hampton; a daughter-in-law, Donna L. Harris of Mystic; her sister, Millicent Hurley of Wilmington, Mass.; six grandchildren, David and wife, Dyonne, Amber and husband, Joseph, Breanne and husband, Phillip, Randy and wife, Heather, Caitlyn and husband, Austin, and Sheri; seven great-grandchildren, David, Emily, Hunter, Sawyer, Makenna, RJ and Andrew; and a special family friend she thought of as a daughter, Vonnie Summers. She was predeceased by a son, Ronald Paul Harris, brothers Leonard and Robert Stanieich, and two sons-in-law, Dennis Michael Pahl and Thomas A. Bartlett.

Funeral service and interment are private and there are no calling hours. Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St., Groton, is assisting with the arrangements.
