Waterford Blue wins 16-18 Babe Ruth title
Waterford — Waterford Blue scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on Sunday to rally for a 4-2 win over East Lyme White and wrap up the SEC 16-18 Babe Ruth playoffs title.
In the sixth Waterford got doubles from Mitchell Clapsadle and Alec Donahue and an RBI single by Sean Cioci. Jordan Hancock pitched a six-hitter for the win, striking out nine and allowing no earned runs. East Lyme's Mike Cohan pitched a four-hitter and teammate Kyle Ayers had two hits.
Tigers win
• The Connecticut Tigers took a 6-0 lead and held on to beat the Lowell Spinners 6-5 in a New York-Penn League game at Dodd Stadium in Norwich. The Tigers (19-17) scored four runs in the bottom of the third inning, capped by a three-run double by Hector Martinez. Junnell Ledezma doubled home a run in the fifth and Elys Escobar's RBI single in the sixth made it 6-0. Lowell (16-22) scored five runs in the top of the seventh.

• Cody Jones pitched his fifth straight complete game as the Panera Pirates beat the Three Rivers Sonics 16-2 in an Eastern Connecticut Major League game. Jones pitched a four-hitter with eight strikeouts and one walk. Eric Sommers' grand slam highlighted an 11-run second inning for the Pirates. Brian McGugan was 4-for-6 with a homer and doubled and scored three runs, Sean Donnelly was 3-for-4 and scored twice and C.J. Moore, Trent Garbetti and Donnelly had doubles for the Pirates. Conner Alger and John Ryder had doubles for the Sonics.
