-

Norwich — Jon-Paul Mandelburg has been named director of housing for Thames Valley Council for Community Action, the agency announced Thursday.

Mandelburg will oversee daily operations of the agency’s housing assistance programs, including Section 8 rental assistance, permanent supportive housing, Next Steps supportive housing, Connecticut Rapid Rehousing and homelessness prevention.

Prior to joining TVCCA, Mandelburg was director of field services for Change Inc. in Middletown. There, he oversaw statewide in-home services for clientele with various diagnoses and disabilities, including mental health and acquired brain injury, and elderly populations.

Mandelburg, a lifelong resident of New London County, said he joined TVCCA because of a desire to work in the local community.

“Previously, my employments had focus within different regions or statewide and not this part of the state particularly,” he said in a news release announcing the appointment. “I was also drawn to TVCCA’s longstanding presence in the community as a community action agency, and the diversity of services.”

Mandelburg is a graduate of Columbia University and Norwich Free Academy. He is a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves and lives in the Waterford area with his wife and two children.
