Mystic — Eleanor Rose Tatro Jamieson passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at her home in Mystic.

She was born in New London, on Dec. 17, 1929, the daughter of Marie Fritscher and William Henry Tatro. She was a proud lifelong resident of Mystic, where she attended Broadway School and graduated from Stonington High School. She married Donald Coes Jamieson, on Aug. 23, 1952, at Saint Patrick Church in Mystic. He predecease­d her in 2012.

A real estate broker for many years, Eleanor worked for the Murphy Company and later for Cushman Real Estate before establishi­ng her own firm, Mystic Realty at the Depot. For many years Eleanor also worked at the polls in Mystic.

She was a member of Saint Patrick’s Church for 87 years, where she served as a Eucharisti­c minister. In addition, Eleanor volunteere­d for numerous organizati­ons, including the Pequot Medical Center, the Sunshine Kitchen with the Groton Woman’s Club, and the Mystic Woman’s Club, for which she served as membership chair, as well as a regular volunteer at the club’s thrift shop. She also devoted much time to the Child and Family Agency and their annual tag sale where she worked tirelessly for many days each year. The agency honored her in 2017 with the Volunteer of the Year Award for her many contributi­ons.

Eleanor was known for her sense of style as well as being an ardent jazz fan and avid reader.

She is survived by her daughters, Adrienne Marie Jamieson and her husband, Patrick Chamorel, of Washington, D.C. and Paris, France and Shelley Sinclair and her husband, Robert Sinclair, of Leonia, N.J.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at St. Patrick Church, 32 E. Main St., Mystic, followed by a reception at Saint Edmund’s Retreat on Ender’s Island in Mystic. Interment will be private.
