Wallace Holeman
New London — Wallace “Wally”A. Holeman, 88, of New London, born in Durham, N.C., son of the late Pete and Lucille (Corbett) Holeman, entered eternal rest on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII where he met and married his late wife, Marion E. (Lancaster) of New London. Mr. Holeman retired from Burlington Coat Factory.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Mark S. Holeman Sr. and Gerry A. Lancaster; four daughters, Sharon L. Holeman, Julie A. Drayton, Marsha Fussel (Marvin) and Denise McGuire; one brother, Pete (Robin) Holman of North Carolina; nephews Matt, Jeremy and Nicholas Holeman and niece, Sara Holman, all of North Carolina. He also leaves
behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by three sons, Steward B. Holeman, Darrell R. Holeman and Wallace A. Holeman Jr.; and one granddaughter, Beaushannia Holeman.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1 Garvin St., New London. Interment will follow in Jordan Cemetery, Waterford, with military honors. Relatives and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
