The Day

The next best thing

- — Thomas Benfield

What if you could see Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Rod Stewart and Cher, all on the same stage in the same night? Well, don’t think for a second that you can because, with the exceptions of Rod Stewart and Cher, they’re all dead. Okay, so there’s the hard truth. Now, what are our options? There are talented impersonators who look similar to and sing in their own impressions of these great artists; this seems like the next best option.

“Legends In Concert” is a professional tribute show. They’ve hired and organized backing bands, set lists, costuming, stage tech, and even held auditions to seek out impersonators.

In its eighth year visiting Foxwoods, “Legends In Concert” holds Foxwoods’ all-time attendance record, with over 300,000 tickets sold cumulatively. The show was voted best tribute show in Las Vegas by The Las Vegas Review, and “Legends In Concert” is also Las Vegas’ longest-running show. From start to finish, you’ll be in your seat for over nine hours without a single break. Just kidding, but “Legends In Concert” really has been open for longer than any other show in Las Vegas since it debuted in 1983 and shows no signs of stopping.

“Legends In Concert,” through Sept. 3, Foxwoods’ Fox Theater; performance times vary, but, this coming week, they are 8 tonight, 7 p.m. Fri.-Sun., 2 and 8 p.m. Tues., and 8 p.m. Wed.; $35-$45, 1-800-200-2882.
