Waterford — Carole Maxine Fuchs of Silver Spring, Md., and Norman St., Waterford, died early Saturday morning after a long illness.

Carole married Royal Fuchs in New London on June 22, 1969, and lived in southeaste­rn Connecticu­t until 1985. She was a teacher at the Hebrew Day School of Eastern Connecticu­t for many years and served as the president of the Ahavath Chesed Sisterhood. After moving to Long Beach, Calif., she continued in her teaching career at the Hebrew Academy of West Orange County.

In 1988, she moved with her family to Silver Spring, where she has resided since. While there, she served as a teacher’s aide at the Hebrew Academy of Greater Washington. Since 2004, she served as a founder president of Royal Technologi­es, LLC.

Carole was an extraordin­arily loving, caring. and giving person to her entire family as well as her friends and acquaintan­ces. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Roy, of Silver Spring, Md., daughter, Marsha Haider, of Irving, Texas, and son, Matthew of Stafford, Va. She also is survived by her brother, Arthur Kaplan of Uncasville, sister, Eleanor Garber of Boston, Mass., brother, Paul Kaplan of Providence, R.I., and sister, Diane of Boynton Beach, Fla.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ahavath Chesed Cemetery, Boston Post Road, Waterford. Shiva will be observed at 39 Norman St., Waterford at times to be announced.
