Uncasville — Kevin Roberts, 64, of Uncasville passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 11, at Orchard Grove Nursing Home after a long and valiant battle with heart disease. Born in New London on Oct. 2, 1953, he was the son of Cleo Roberts and the late Jean Roberts.

Aside from his father, Kevin is survived by his son, Kevin Jr. of Illinois; his three sisters, Elizabeth Corrado, Pamela Roberts and Kim Rosales; two brothers, Todd Roberts and his wife, Victoria, and Brad Roberts and his wife, Maria; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Keith.

Kevin worked for many years at Electric Boat as a shipfitter. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing and umpiring softball and watching his favorite teams (Red Sox, Giants, Celtics) play. He shared and passed on this passion for sports to his son, Kevin Jr.

Kevin’s happiest memories are the times he spent with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

The family would like to thank the nurses, aides and staff at Orchard Grove for the love and care they gave Kevin over the years. A special thank you to Stephanie and Russ of CT Hospice for the care and compassion they gave Kevin and his family in his final days. We would also like to thank the CT Hospice team for their special prayers, support and kindness.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, at St. John the Evangelist Church in Uncasville. A private burial will follow at St Patrick’s cemetery.

There are no calling hours. Church & Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, we believe Kevin would prefer if we each took a moment to do a random act of kindness, just as he did throughout his life.
