North Frontage Road into the bed of her pickup truck shortly before 4 p.m., according to Battalion Chief Edward Sargent of the New London Fire Department.
While the woman was at the rear of the vehicle, a man got into the driver's seat and took off, dragging her for a short distance before she fell from the truck, injuring her arm and causing other minor scrapes and bruises.
She was transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital by ambulance with injuries that were not life-threatening, Sargent said.
The stolen vehicle was a white 2014 Ford F350 pickup truck with the registration 7741CP, New London Police said in an earlier news release. Police described the suspect as a Hispanic man of medium build wearing a red shirt and jean shorts.

"Special parole was created by the legislature in 1998," Tytla said. "No attorney in practice in the State of Connecticut has seen fit to raise this claim, which suggests to me the claim has no merit and Mr. Mims would be hard-pressed to find an attorney to represent him."
"Basically what he (Tytla) is saying, is 'This is the law,'" the judge told Mims. "The law is the law. You agreed to the sentence."
Strackbein denied Mims' motion "based on the legality of special parole," but told Mims he could hire an attorney and file it again.
