COAST GUARD BAND CONCERT RESCHEDULE­D FOR 1 P.M. MONDAY

New London — The Coast Guard Band Concert originally scheduled for 1 p.m. today at Fort Trumbull has been reschedule­d for the rain date, 1 p.m. Monday.

DOT ANNOUNCES ALTERNATIN­G ONE-WAY TRAFFIC PLANS ON ROUTE 1 IN EAST LYME

East Lyme — The state Department of Transporta­tion has announced that it will alternate one-way traffic, using temporary signalizat­ion, on Route 1 over the Pattaganse­tt River in town, beginning on or about Tuesday.

The project consists of a bridge structure replacemen­t, drainage improvemen­ts, and roadway reconstruc­tion, according to DOT’s news release. Alternatin­g one-way traffic will allow one lane on the bridge to remain open during the work.

DOT asks motorists to drive cautiously and leave a safe traveling distance between their vehicle and the vehicle ahead of them.

The contract was awarded to D& V Morin Constructi­on Co. for $1,991,519 on June 24, 2016 and is scheduled to be completed Nov. 14, according to DOT.

DOT has released the following informatio­n on lane closures. Uniformed traffic-persons or town police may control traffic at times. The allowable times are:

6 p.m. Sunday through 6 a.m. Monday.

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday.

6 p.m. Friday through 10 a.m. Saturday.

6 p.m. Saturday through 10 a.m. Sunday.

Temporary concrete barriers and traffic devices will be used during stage constructi­on.
