ECSO and chorus hold auditions
The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra is holding a series of auditions for several vacancies.
Those auditions are: section violin and section viola on Sept. 14; principal cello and section cello on Sept. 19; and assistant principal bass on Sept. 21.
Auditions are by appointment only and will run from approximately 6 to 9 p.m. at Waterford High School.
The ECSO is a fully professional, part-time, per-service orchestra located in New London. An A.F. of M. Local 285-403 membership is required for all contracted musicians. ECOS offers 30 base services per season, with section/asst. principal pay set at $97.15 per service and principal pay at $121.44 per service during the 2017-18 season.

Also, the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus is seeking singers for its 2017-2018. Auditions will be held on Sept. 13.
Auditions are by appointment only and will begin at 7 p.m. Participants are expected to prepare two songs of symphonic, hymns or church music; those auditioning will also be asked to vocalize and sight read.
Participants should bring the piano accompaniment scores of their chosen songs to the audition; an accompanist will be provided.
