Gales Ferry — Wayne S. Dillashaw, 55, of Gales Ferry, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, due to a work-related accident in January.

He was born Aug. 5, 1962, to Irene and the late Virgil Dillashaw. He was a lifelong resident of the Ledyard/ Gales Ferry community and graduated from Ledyard High School in 1980. He was the founder and owner of Precision Landscaping for nearly three decades. His business will always be known for his bright lime-green trucks and where almost all of his clients became close friends.

Following in the footsteps of his father, he was a loyal and dedicated Red Sox and Patriots fan, and thoroughly enjoyed watching a game with family and friends.

Wayne will be remembered for many things, such as his winning smile, his generosity and his gift of gab, but his most outstanding quality will always be his willingness to help out someone in their time of need. Just like a modern-day super hero, Wayne was always there in a time of need or crisis. He will be greatly missed by so many.

Besides his mother, Irene, he is survived by his companion, Amanda Jenniges, and her two daughters, Emily and Marissa; his daughter, Briana Diotte of Cranston, R.I.; and his 5-year-old son, Trevor, who was the light of his life and his best pal.

He also leaves a sister, Sharon Grisham, and her daughter, Jacqlyn, both of Chesapeake, Va.; a brother, Dennis and his wife, Chris, of Norway, Maine; and his brother, Ronald Dillashaw of Ledyard.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl St., Mystic. Burial will be private. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at a later date.
