Colchester — Sue Deshefy Boutin, 62, of Colchester, formally of East Windsor, passed away Sept. 3, 2017, surrounded by her husband and family, after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Sue was born at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Va. on Feb. 6, 1955, the daughter of Elmer and Barbara (Schrader) Deshefy. She graduated from Montville High School in 1973. Sue attended the University of Connecticu­t followed by a career at ShopRite before moving to Kissimmee, Fla. where she and her husband resided for many years. Sue enjoyed playing and watching sports including baseball, basketball, football and golf. An avid New York Yankees fan and talented athlete in her own right, she excelled at the game of golf and enjoyed many years of playing before her illness.

Sue is survived by her husband, Robert Boutin; her parents, Elmer and Barbara Deshefy of Montville; two stepchildr­en, Cindy Brault (David) of Andover and their children, Kelsey and Kevin, and Peter Boutin of Orlando, Fla.; her sisters, Paula MacDonald (Tom) of Westbrook and their children, Patrick, Daniel, and Ryan, and Linda Deshefy of Quaker Hill and her son, Derek Rockholz (Phoebe) and grandson, Cole Rockholz; and her brother, Michael Deshefy (Cynthia) of Uncasville and their sons, Nicholas and Adam.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at the Montville Funeral Home, 53 Norwich/ New London Turnpike, Uncasville.

The family wishes to express our sincere gratitude to Sue’s husband, Bob, for the many years he devoted to caring for Sue during her illness and to the nurses and staff of the A2 Wing of Backus Hospital for their kindess and compassion­ate care.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Sue’s memory be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 659 Tower Ave., First Floor, Hartford, CT 06112 or nationalms­society.org.
