NORWICH MAN ARRESTED FOR DEALING NARCOTICS IN CITY

Norwich — Police arrested a resident Wednesday afternoon after detectives found he was selling narcotics at several points around the city.

Odilio Gonzalez, 31, of 54 11th St., No. 1, Norwich, with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell, criminal attempt to sell heroin and possession of drug parapherna­lia.

According to a release, detectives within the Norwich Police Department received informatio­n about Gonzalez's narcotics sales and conducted surveillan­ce around the city. They found him Wednesday afternoon while attempting to sell heroin to another man, and detectives detained him and his potential customer, the release said.

Officers said they found heroin, fentanyl and crack cocaine on Gonzalez at the time of arrest. When searching his hotel room and the car of his potential customer, they said they seized 321 baggies of heroin and fentanyl with a total weight of about 2.7 ounces, 14 baggies of crack cocaine with a total weight of about 15.5 grams, three cellphones, $841 and additional packaging.

Gonzalez is being held on $150,000 cash surety bond and will appear Thursday in Norwich Superior Court.
