Bozrah — Eileen Alexander Kaplan, 73, of Bozrah, passed away with her family by her side on Sept. 30, 2017. She was born on June 25, 1944, in Willimanti­c, to Maurice and Ruth Alexander.

Eileen was raised and educated in Columbia and graduated from Windham High School and Mt. Sinai School of X-Ray Technology. Eileen went on to become a successful X-Ray technician, stationery business owner, Realtor, DCF employee, published author and public speaker. Her book, “Laughter is the Breast Medicine,” is an acclaimed success and has inspired and encouraged so many who have battled cancer. Eileen always used laughter and humor to move through life’s good and bad times. She was a bright shining star to all who knew and loved her. She will be forever missed and loved.

In addition to her loving husband of 53 years, Arnold, she is survived by two daughters, Marcy Kaplan and her husband, Howard Flacker, Dana Kaplan Jolly and her husband, Michael Jolly Sr.; grandson, Michael Jolly Jr.; sister, Beverly Raymond and her brotherin-law, William Raymond; nephew, Michael Raymond and his wife, Jami Himmelfarb Raymond; as well as nieces, Jenna Kaplan Denisar and Marla Kaplan.

A private graveside service was held, Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at Bozrah Rural Cemetery.
