Niantic — On Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, Patricia Ann Keegan passed away peacefully at home after a long illness.

She was born in Woonsocket, R.I., on April 27, 1935, to Micheal Morin and Evelyn Benjamin Morin, the first of five children. Patricia was a registered nurse for over fifty years, serving over thirty of those years as a Groton Public Health nurse. She also served among some of her best friends in the American Legion Auxillary for more than 30 years at the post in Niantic, #128.

She was married to Franklin Kenneth Keegan, an Air Force veteran, for 30 years, until he passed away in 1984. Pat had a love for cooking, traveling, administra­ting, and she had a passion for fashion.

She is survived by her only son, Michael Keegan and his wife, Carol; her brother, Michael Morin and his wife, Theresa; her brother, Leonard Melsbach and his wife, Ruth; and her sister, Marie Branche and her companion, John. She was predecease­d by her sister, Michelle St. Pierre.

Pat was always enthusiast­ic about her role as the awesome aunt. She had many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She will also be missed by her faithful dog, Harley.

Her family and friends will meet from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Thomas Neilan and Sons Funeral Home in Niantic. The burial will be held privately at another date.

Donations may be made in her name to the American Legion Auxilary, Niantic Post No. 128, or to the Center For Hospice Care Southeaste­rn Connecticu­t.
