Conn men blank ECSU

New London — Ben Manoogian had a goal and an assist as Connecticu­t College remained unbeaten with a 2-0 men's soccer victory over Eastern Connecticu­t State University on Tuesday at Freeman Field.

The Camels (7-0-3) have not allowed a goal in 539 minutes, 33 seconds.

Manoogian scored his sixth goal with just 31 seconds left in the first half and then set up Ben Highton in the 69th minute.

Women's soccer

• Freshman Kat Retz scored with 14 seconds remaining to give Coast Guard Academy a dramatic 1-0 road win over Mount Holyoke in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference. Another freshman, Felicia Lombardi, set up Retz for the game-winner, her third goal of the year. Goalie Rachel Boohar made four saves for the Bears (5-5, 2-2) to record her third shutout of the season.

Volleyball

• Freshman Bridgit Boyle hit .333 with 13 kills, seven digs and three aces to highlight Coast Guard's 3-1 win over WPI in the NEWMAC. Game scores were 25-9, 24-14, 21-25 and 258. Alexi Deane added 11 kills and five blocks for the Bears (12-6, 4-3) while Angelou Dunton tied her career-high with seven aces to go along with seven kills and 16 digs. Makenna Martin added 29 assists for CGA.

• Lesley swept Mitchell College 25-16, 25-17, 25-16 in the New England Collegiate Conference. Marissa Sweeney had five kills for the Mariners (0-11, 0-1) and Lauren Tompkins added nine digs and eight assists.

Field hockey

• No. 8 Amherst escaped with a 2-1 victory over visiting Conn College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game. Amherst (7-2, 3-2) scored both goals in the first half while the Camels (3-7, 1-6) scored in 59th minute when Casey Freehill set up Cheyanne Asplundh for a goal.
