Margaret Spinnato

New London — Margaret D. Spinnato, 102, entered eternal life on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017.

She was born April 28, 1915, in New London, the daughter of the late Rosario and Angela Spinnato.

Margaret was a talented seamstress and worked many years for local companies in New London. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church. Margaret was a much-loved member of her extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

She will always be remembered as a humble, caring and generous servant of God, who thought first of others before herself. Her Italian cookie creations always graced special family celebrations, and her home, the “stone house” on Elm Street in New London, was the setting for many family gatherings. She will be missed dearly by her family and very special friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Greentree Manor for their care of Margaret over the last 14 years.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at St. Mary’s followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St Mary’s Cemetery.

Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care.
