Stonington, St. Bernard girls finish unbeaten in ECC divisional cross country.

Stonington — Stonington put the finishing touches on an unbeaten Eastern Connecticu­t Conference Division II girls' cross country regular season with a 24-32 victory over Woodstock Academy on Tuesday.

Lily Anderson won individual honors for the Bears (9-1, 5-0), finishing her 3.1-mile course in 20:52.

Stonington had its four other point scorers break the top eight as Liz Gray was fourth (21:57), Lindsey Orr was fifth (22:23), Abby Remmert was sixth (23:40) and Mary Gray was eighth (23:59). In other meets: • St. Bernard defeated Windham 15-50 and Tourtellot­te 18-46 to finish a perfect regulars season in ECC Division III. Christina McCaffrey completed an unbeaten regular season by placing first in 22:09 for the Saints (6-0, 6-0), followed by teammates Brigid Kunka (23:09) and Rachel Kunka (23:46).

• Bacon Academy swept a tri-meet in Colchester, defeating Montville 20-40 in ECC Division II and Ledyard 25-31. Ledyard also defeated Montville 22-34. Mady Whitakker of Montville (2-7, 2-3) was the individual winner in 22:06 while Bacon's Erin Mathieu was second (23:06) and Ledyard's Jade Dessaint (23:11) and Ally Tran (23:22) were third and fourth, respective­ly. Ledyard is 8-5.

• Julia Adrian took first in 21:16 to pace Fitch past Waterford (22-37) Killingly (19-44) and New London (15-50). The Falcons are 3-3 overall. Waterford (6-7, 1-4 Div. II) beat New London and Killingly, both 15-50. New London is 0-12, 0-4 in Div. I.

• Brittany Riggins won the 2.9 mile race in 22:52, leading Wheeler past Plainfield 15-50 in ECC Division III. Miranda Pabst was second in 29:29 for the Lions (4-7, 3-4).

Boys

• Stonington placed seven runners in the top 10 to overcome a 1-2 finish by Woodstock's Ethan Asperus and Kenneth Berlin and beat the Centaurs 27-32 in an ECC Division II meet. Mark Costanzo (19:35), Daniel Robinson (19:41) and Andrew Connelly (19:53) finished 3-5 to lead the Bears (5-5, 3-2).

• Bacon's Andrew Janus captured individual honors in 17:05 as the Bobcats swept ECC Division II rival Montville (17-44) and Ledyard (23-35). The Colonels (9-4) beat the Indians (2-7, 2-3) 20-39. Zak King was Ledyard's top finisher in second place (17:12) while Jayden Colon was Montville's top finisher in sixth (18:38).

• Tom Readett finished first in 17 minutes, 33 seconds to lead Fitch past Waterford (27-29), New London (18-43) in ECC Division I and Killingly (16-47). The Falcons are 3-3, 1-3. Waterford (10-3, 4-1 Div. II) beat New London (19-41) and Killingly (16-47), while New London (3-10, 0-4 Div. I) defeated Killingly, 21-35.

• Sam Davis crossed the finish line in a winning time of 19:11, powering St. Bernard past Windham 15-40 and Tourtellot­te 15-40 in ECC Division III. The Saints are 2-3, 2-3.

• Teddy Nosiku placed second in 17:12 and Wheeler teammate Michael Carroll was third in 17:18 in a 23-37 win over Plainfield in ECC Division III. The Lions are 6-4, 5-1.
