Groton — A tech tour featuring the White House’s entrepreneur in residence will put down stakes from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday at CURE Innovation Commons, inviting entrepreneurs in the region to network and learn about deal financing, business formation and community building.

The tour stop, announced by Thames River Innovation Partners and its newly formed Ignite program, will include an appearance by Paul Singh, a well-known tech startup guru who will arrive by airstream trailer on a trip that includes four days in Connecticut sponsored by Crossroads Venture Group.

“We’re giving entrepreneurs access to know what’s happening,” said Mary Anne Rooke, executive director of Crossroads.

The event at 93 Shennecossett Road is free, but registration is required. For information and to register, visit bit.ly/ CTTechTour.

Singh is serving as an entrepreneur in residence with the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. He is former managing director of the Washington, D.C.-based incubator 1776.

CURE Commons is a business incubator started two years ago by Connecticut United for Research Excellence, an association of science and technology experts. The Ignite program is a partnership between The Commons and Spark Makerspace tied to the region’s being named recipient of a $900,000 matching state grant under the Innovation Places program, which is intended to spark new entrepreneurship efforts throughout Connecticut.
