Groton — Lee Howard, The Day’s community editor, will be guest speaker at 6:30 p.m. Monday, when the Southeast Chapter of the Connecticut Authors and Publishers Association hosts a meeting at the Groton Regency, 1145 Poquonnock Road.
Howard, who runs the eight Times weekly newspapers for The Day, will speak on “How to Get Paid for Writing Articles for Papers & Magazines.”

He also edited a weekly consumer magazine for The Day called Marketplace and has held a number of editing and reporting roles for the newspaper. In addition, he has freelanced for such publications as Connecticut, Grace and Court Time magazines, had a self-syndicated tennis column that ran both in The Day and in the Nashua Telegraph in Nashua, N.H., and teaches journalism and writing at Mitchell College.
The presentation will follow a brief business meeting and networking session that commences at 6:30 p.m. For more information, contact SECAPA Chairperson Tom Santos (860) 599-5067 or email santostom@comcast. net.
