MOHEGAN GAMING NAMES CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER
Mohegan — Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment announced Wednesday that Barbara Kenney has been named senior vice president and chief human resources officer.
In her new role, Kenney will develop a “human capital strategy,” and oversee succession planning, leadership development, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness and executive coaching for all MGEowned properties in the United States and Asia.
“Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment is proud to have Barbara Kenney join our team to provide employee excellence and oversee the continued growth of our company,” said Mario Kontomerkos, MGE’s chief executive officer. “We understand the importance of cultivating top talent to make a positive impact on the business while maximizing guest experiences, and with Barbara’s successful track record, we are confident in her ability to successfully drive our team.”
Prior to joining MGE, Kenney served as vice president of human resources, commercial markets for Hartford Financial Services Group. She has a master’s of business administration degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Lally School of Management. Plan voted 4-1 with Chairman Arthur Sharron voting against, to approve the request by Evan Blum, who owns the property under the name Phoenix Realty LLC, for a warehouse use in the Greeneville mill complex. The approval applied to mill buildings at 385 and 387R N. Main St., and not to the office building in front of the complex.
Blum told the commission he has several ideas for use of the property, including possible flea market-style retail, assembly of building parts into other uses and refurbishing windows. But the approval Tuesday was only for the warehouse use.
