The renovated TASC space, a one-stop shop for free academic support, is larger, brighter and designed for flexible usage, Three Rivers officials said in a news release. New features include six private tutoring rooms, collaborative technology stations and an expanded reception and scheduling area.
Comprising the Tutoring Center, Writing Center, Math Computer Lab and Language Arts Lab, TASC is staffed by a collaborative team of faculty, staff, student peers, and community volunteers. It provides a learner-centered environment that values student success, facilitating improved student performance and persistence.
“This new space is ideal for our students,” Jukoski said in the release. “The functional and flexible environment is not only inviting to students, but now better supports our superior tutoring services. It enables us to provide support for many more learners in a high-tech yet welcoming setting. It’s wonderful to see the expansion of services and assistance that we are now capable of at TASC.”
The work was completed in several phases and opened to students at the beginning of the fall semester. police, Norwich Public Utilities and community organizations, including the Bully Busters and the Greeneville Neighborhood Revitalization Zone Committee, will participate.
The Greeneville fire station was built in 1896 and is the second oldest operating firehouse in the state.
