Groton — Clarence W. Bradley, age 93, of Groton, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at the Groton Regency.

He was born in Mystic on April 25, 1924, the son of Claude and Lillian Gracey Bradley. He was the widower of Lydia Matson Bradley. Clarence was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard serving in the Pacific. He then served with the Navy Reserve.

He was a carpenter with the Carpenters Local, working on many local projects, including the dormitorie­s and steeple of the chapel at the Coast Guard Academy and additions at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London.

He was a member and former deacon of the Third Baptist Church of North Stonington, a charter member of the North Stonington Lions Club and a member of the Mystic VFW.

He is survived by a son, James Bradley and wife, Bonita, of Marlboroug­h, Mass.; a daughter, Ellen Balazy and husband, Keith, of Fort Myers, Fla.; a son-in-law, Roger Dent; eight grandchild­ren and 15 great-grandchild­ren. He was predecease­d by his daughter, Jackie Dent.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, at Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Third Baptist Church, Rocky Hollow Road, North Stonington. There are no visiting hours.
