Niantic — Tina (Fotini) Andreopoul­os, age 86, passed away peacefully on Nov. 11, 2017, surrounded by family members.

Born in the Bronx, N.Y., daughter to Harry and Anna Nestor, sister to Helen Lahanas (deceased), she was raised in Niantic and was a graduate of UConn. She married Gus Andreopoul­os, and raised their family in Forest Hills, N.Y. Tina was an active member at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Jamaica, N.Y., as an educator and philanthro­pist. She loved attending the ballet and theatre. She participat­ed in her local women’s club and worked side-by-side with her husband, Gus, at Anderson Florist in Forest Hills. In her spare time, she sewed, knitted and loved travel.

She is survived by her husband Gus, of 61 years; her son Spero, his wife Dimitra, and their daughter Fotini; her son Stephen, his wife Liza, and their children, Gregory, Melanie and Christina; and her daughter Evelyn, her husband Douglas Oberkirche­r, and their children, Arianna, Olivia, Eva and Anastasia.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St, Niantic. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 200 Hempstead St., New London, with interment to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributi­ons may be directed to St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church.
