Michele Jezierski

East Lyme — Michele D. Jezierski, 68, of East Lyme, passed away on Nov. 17, 2017, peacefully in her sleep at home.

Michele was born in New London on Feb. 17, 1949, one of four daughters of the late Michael R. Lazuk and Grace A. Lazuk. She grew up on a small family farm in Waterford, where she graduated from Waterford High School in 1967. She immediately began working at BBP in Waterford and was employed there until 1980.

Michele married the love of her life, William R. Jezierski, in July of 1979; they were married for 38 years. In 1981, Michele enjoyed being a stayat-home mom after giving birth to their son, Michael.

For the past 26 years, Michele was the corporate manager for W.J. Tree Service in East Lyme. Her home was her haven where she enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, trying new recipes, gardening and decorating. She loved being around her loving family and friends, especially around the holidays. She loved chatting over coffee with neighbors and friends. Michele loved traveling with her husband and later with her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren on family vacations. Her favorite destination was the Caribbean.

More than anything, Michele was given the joy of three grandchildren over the past seven years. They were the center of her life, she would do anything to spoil and care for them, and they made her so proud and happy. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her loving husband William, Michele is survived by her beloved son and daughter-inlaw, Michael and Dana Jezierski; three beautiful grandchildren, Gavin Michael, Olivia Grace, and Wesley Laurence Jezierski; her sister, Carol Dickinson and her husband, David; her sister, Linda Robertson and her husband, Gordon; her sister, Susan Russell and her husband, Lawrence; brother-inlaw Paul Jezierski; her nieces, Jennifer Gebhart and Kimberley Price; her nephews, David Dickinson Jr. and Stephen Reiff; her great-nieces, Morgan and Liana Dickinson; her great-nephew, Joshua Price; and many other relatives and friends. Michele is preceded in death by her parents, Michael R. Lazuk and Grace A. Lazuk, and, recently, her nephew, Christopher Dickinson.

Her family will greet friends and family from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Thomas Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, at Flanders Baptist and Community Church in East Lyme.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are by Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home.
