Mitchell, Conn College fall in men’s basketball

New London — Jaqhawn Walters scored 22 points and had a career-high 24 rebounds, leading Albertus Magnus to a 91-81 win over Mitchell College in a nonleague men's basketball game on Thursday night.

Colizel Lewis scored 23 points, Domenico Santiago had 14 points and eight rebounds, Mack Bertram-Gregory scored 12 and Matt Finke came off the bench for 10 points and six assists for Mitchell (2-5). Ryan Pittman scored 23 for Albertus Magnus (4-2). In other games: • Western New England outscored Connecticu­t College 56-39 in the second half and rallied for a 90-76 win in the nonleague game. Dan Draffan and Isaiah Robinson had nine points each and Phil Leotsakos had eight points, seven rebounds and four assists for Conn (4-3). Mikey Pettway led Western New England (2-5) with 20 points and seven assists.

• Six players from the Valley Regional/Old Lyme team were named to the Pequot Conference Sassacus Division all-star team. Quarterbac­k Mike Cullina, receiver Ernest Jean-Pierre and lineman Ian Neviaser were first team picks on offense along with Blair Allen, who made the team at the flex position. Lineman Cole Hamparian and back Jake Kruszewski were first team picks on defense. Kruszewski also won the Teddy Netcoh Award.

• Three players from Thames River made the Connecticu­t Technical Conference all-star team. Trey Stimson, Roark Ryan and Albert Velasquez were named to the team.

College soccer

• Abdou Mbacke Thiam and Jacob Hauser-Ramsey of UConn were named to the United Soccer All-East team. Thiam made the second team and Hauser-Ramsey was a third-team pick. Both players are juniors.
