Thelma Bisang

Mystic — Thelma Bisang, 91, of Mystic, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at Mystic Apple Rehab. Born on Nov. 27, 1926, in Barrington, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Alice Horton.

She was the widow of George A. Bisang, who predecease­d her on Dec. 24, 1996.

For those who knew Thelma, she will be remembered as a kind and caring mother and grandmothe­r, and a trusted and humble friend with a wonderful sense of humor, kind heart and generosity. Thelma loved to spend time with her grandchild­ren. She also enjoyed many local events and trips with the Groton Seniors.

Thelma was predecease­d by her three sisters, Alice, Flora and Barbara, and two brothers, Edmund and Harold. She leaves behind two sisters, Muriel Jordan and Norma Whitehead.

Thelma is survived by two daughters, Gaile Fowler and husband Edward, Kathy Fenton and husband Michael, and son Daniel and wife Carol. She is also survived by four grandchild­ren, Edward Fowler, Richard Fowler, Michael Fenton and Daniel Fenton; and four great-grandchild­ren, Daniel and Sheena’s children, Carter and Tiegan, and Michael and Lisa’s children, Kinsley and Nolan.

Her daughter, Kathy, extends her gracious thanks for the kindness and care given to Thelma at Apple Rehab in Mystic, and a heartfelt thanks to Barbara and Maryann whom Thelma loved so very much, and also to Ethel for your immense love to Kathy and to Thelma, your other mother.

There will be no calling hours and entombment at St. Mary’s mausoleum is private.
