Betty Cormier
Kane, Pa. — Betty L. Cormier, age 87, of 100 High Point Drive, Kane, Pa., and formerly of Johnsonburg, Pa., died Saturday morning, Dec. 16, 2017, at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
She was born Nov. 11, 1930, in New London, daughter of the late Anthony and Doris (Rogers) Marshall. She married Leo R. Cormier on Feb. 7, 1955. He preceded her in death. She lived in Johnsonburg, Pa., for 22 years, and was formerly of Groton. She was a member of the Awakening Alliance Church in Ridgway, Pa.
She had been employed by Groton, Conn., public schools for many years, where she was a well-loved custodian at the Claude Chester School.
She is survived by two daughters, Alma Louise (Randy) Kelley of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Doris Evelyn Anderson of Newport News, Va.; six grandchildren, Ed Redmond III, Becky Redmond, Jamie Kelley Garcia, Maureen Kelley, Taylor Anderson and Austin Anderson; six great-grandchildren, Andrew Garcia, Audrey Garcia, Allison Garcia, Christopher Redmond, Zachary Redmond and Gabrielle Redmond; one great-great-grandchild, Lucas Sones; and two brothers, George Marshall and Anthony Marshall, both of Ledyard. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Rose Giughello; two sisters, Rose Marshall and Roberta Morse; and two brothers, Allyn Marshall and Raymond Marshall.
A Memorial Mass for Betty will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28, at St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church in Groton. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in New London. There will be no visitation.
