GRISWOLD HOMEOWNERS IDENTIFIED AS VICTIMS IN DEC. 20 BLAZE
Griswold — The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has identified the two victims of a deadly blaze here on Dec. 20.
Janet Lindquist, 61, and Kenneth Lindquist, 56, were found dead after their house at 70 Kenwood Estates caught fire.
The case remains under investigation, including a car fire that same morning in Glastonbury that was found to be related to the Griswold fire. State police also announced there was a person of interest in the case, but no further information was available. Christmas Day.
According to police, the incident began when officers were told to watch out for a black Kia SUV that had been driving erratically. Police said officers located the vehicle in the driveway of 117 Meeting House Lane. They found Nicole Hunter, a 25-year-old who resides at the same address, inside.
According to police, Hunter screamed and charged at the officers who approached her. The officers placed her under arrest and took her to the station.
While they were waiting for a female officer from another department to search Hunter, police said Hunter pulled out a pink, powdery substance wrapped in paper and unsuccessfully tried to snort it.
The substance later tested positive for cocaine, according to police.
Police charged Hunter with possession of narcotics, interfering with an officer and disorderly conduct.
Released on an unspecified bond, Hunter is due Jan. 8 in New London Superior Court.
