New London man arrested on drug charges
New London — A Vauxhall Street resident was arrested Sunday after a Quality of Life patrol found him with heroin, Oxycontin and marijuana.
Daniel Hunt, 29, of 224 Vauxhall St., was charged with two counts of possession of narcotics, two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, first-degree criminal trespassing, tampering with evidence and illegal storage of narcotics.
According to a release, Hunt was found on Prest Street Sunday with 3.3 grams of heroin packaged for sale, 2.5 grams of marijuana, and 10 Oxycontin pills not in their prescription container.
He remains in custody on a $25,000 bond.

Groton — A two-car crash Monday on Route 184 at the intersection with Flanders Road sent both drivers to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital with serious but unspecified injuries.
The noontime crash closed Route 184 for several hours in both directions. No other passengers or vehicles were involved.
“The names of the occupants are not being released at this time and their conditions are not currently available,” according to a release from the Groton Town Police Department emailed Monday night.
Personnel from the Groton Town Police Department, Old Mystic Fire Department, Center Groton Fire Department, Poqunnock Bridge Fire Department and Groton Ambulance and medics from L+M responded to the crash.
The road was reopened around 4 p.m. after an investigation conducted by the Southeastern Connecticut Regional Traffic Unit.
