GROTON ADULT EDUCATION HOLDS REGISTRATI­ON

Groton — Groton Adult Education is hosting a registrati­on night for GED and ESL classes tonight, and registrati­on nights for adult high school credit diploma classes on Jan. 24 and 25.

All registrati­on nights take place at West Side Middle School, 250 Brandegee Ave.

Registrati­on for GED and ESL classes is 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Classes begin Monday, Jan. 8, and will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

High school credit diploma classes will be held during this time on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Registrati­on is from 5 to 7 p.m. on Jan. 24 and 25.

Those unable to register during these times can call (860) 441-2152.

Classes are free and open to Groton residents who are 17 or older and have not completed high school. Those registerin­g in person are asked to bring two forms of identifica­tion, proof of address, and school transcript­s, if available.

Carney will also hold office hours from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16, in the Grady Thomas Room at the Acton Public Library, 60 Old Boston Post Road in Old Saybrook and from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, at the Lyme Public Library, 482 Hamburg Road in Lyme.

“These sessions will provide constituen­ts with an opportunit­y to ask questions or share their ideas and concerns about state government,” according to a notice announcing the office hours. Anyone with questions can call Carney’s office at (800) 842-1423 or email devin. carney@housegop.ct.gov.

Carney will also hold office hours with Rep. Jesse MacLachlan, R-Westbrook, from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at the Westbrook Public Library at 61 Goodspeed Drive.
