Stonington — Sally (Muzzy) Foster, 87, passed away early Saturday morning, Dec. 30, 2017.

Sally was born on June 8, 1930, in Hackensack, N.J., to the late Franklin Goodspeed and Maria (Dahlander) Muzzy. She was a graduate of the Dwight-Englewood School, Class of 1948. She married Pell W. Foster in 1952 and began raising her children in Tenafly, N.J. In 1964, the family moved to Fairfield. After her divorce in 1980, Sally lived on Cape Cod, Mass., and worked at the New World Bank as a teller for 12 years. In 2002, she settled in Stonington, where she worked at the Mystic Depot Welcome Center for over 10 years.

Sally was the loving mother of Ruth F. Coyne (Scott) of Huntington, N.Y., John S. Foster (Kristin) of Mystic and Betsy S. Foster of Durham, N.C.; loving grandmothe­r of six children and loving great-grandmothe­r of four children. Sally is survived by her sister, Susan Carneal (George) of McLean, Va.; and brother, John Muzzy (Cathy) of Atlanta, Ga.

Aside from her parents, Sally is predecease­d by two children, Pell W. Foster IV and Susan C. Foster; as well as her ex-husband, Pell Foster; and sister, Mary Jane Holden.

A memorial will be held at a future time.
