Tulsa, Okla. — UConn suffered a heart-breaking double overtime defeat on Wednesday night.

Trailing by two with 10 seconds left, the Huskies had two shots to tie the American Athletic Conference thriller at Tulsa, but junior Jalen Adams missed a contested runner and redshirt junior Terry Larrier misfired from 3-point range. Final: Tulsa 90, UConn 88. The Huskies lost their fourth straight game to fall to 7-7 overall, 0-2 in the AAC. The Golden Hurricane improved to 10-5, 3-0. UConn has failed to win in all four trips to the Reynolds Center.

Adams led UConn in points (29), rebounds (13) and assists (nine) while Vital added 22 points and Larrier scored 19.

Tulsa set an AAC record for most 3-pointers in a game with 17 out of 41 attempts.

It was a tough loss for UConn to swallow. The Huskies led by three near the end of regulation before Corey Henderson Jr. (30 points) buried his eighth 3-pointer with four seconds left to tie the score at 75-all and force overtime.

Then they held a 79-78 advantage and had the ball with 12 seconds left in the first overtime. But Adams turned the ball over and the Huskies fouled freshman Elijah Joiner, who made one of two free throws to send the game to a second overtime.

Tulsa seized the lead for good, 84-82, on Junior Etou's 3-pointer with 3:23 remaining in the second overtime.

They lost despite making a season-high 11 3-pointers and limiting Tulsa to 37.5 percent from the field.

In other news, UConn learned that transfer Sidney Wilson's request for a waiver to be eligible this season was denied, according to the Hartford Courant. Wilson took some summer classes at St. John's before transferring to UConn in September.
