Cleveland, Ohio — Dolores Engel, 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, in Cleveland.

She was born on Jan. 31, 1931, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Mary and Kalman Steinman. Dolores was the youngest of six siblings and grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y. After high school, she worked briefly in Manhattan and met the love of her life, her husband, Harvey, at the Fallsview in Ellenville, N.Y. They were married in 1955 and lived there for 10 years but spent most of their very happily married years in Chalfont, Pa. until Harvey passed away suddenly in 1983. They were members of T’feres B’nai Israel Synagogue on Street Road. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, cross-stitch and was exceedingl­y proud of her children, grandchild­ren, nieces, and nephews and loved spending time with them.

Dolores is survived by her son, Kirk (Judy) of East Lyme; her daughters, Fran (Bob) Goerlich of Glenside, Pa. and Suzanne (Alan) Kominsky of Highland Heights, Ohio; her grandchild­ren, Hal, Rachel, Evan, Sarah, Robyn, Max, and David.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Kalman and Mary; her husband, Harvey; and her six siblings.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Raphael-Sacks Funeral Home, 6410 N. Broad St., Philadelph­ia, Pa. Burial will follow the funeral at Shalom Memorial Park in Huntingdon Valley, Pa.

Dolores’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciati­on to all the incredible care she received at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, as well as the staff at Menorah Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the National Psoriasis Foundation.
