SCORE will host a free workshop, “Simple Steps #1: Startup Basics,” Wednesday, Feb. 28, 5:30–7:30 p.m., at CURE Innovation Commons, 93 Shennecossett Road, Groton
This introductory workshop in the new five-workshop series focuses on the basics of testing your business idea and identifying the key factors that influence start-up success. The remaining four workshops in the series take place on consecutive Wednesdays, ending March 28. Attend all five or any individual session. The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT will join partners from the CURE Innovation Commons and the Ignite Program of the Thames River Innovation Place to present a workshop on “Discrimination and Harassment Avoidance Training” on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 3-5 p.m. at the CURE Innovation Commons, 93 Shennecossett Road, Groton. Mary Gambardella, partner and chairwoman of Wiggin and Dana's Labor, Employment & Benefits Department, will provide an overview of the applicable laws and regulations governing workplace conduct, specifically those which prohibit discrimination and sexual harassment. This program is ideal for employers, HR professionals, managers, and employees. Certificates will be provided upon completion. The cost for CURE members and Chamber members is $25.
