Montville — Stanley Clifford Bellamy Sr., 74, of Oakdale, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at Hartford Hospital.

Born Jan. 5, 1944, in Poughkeeps­ie, N.Y., he was the son of the late Clifford Stanley Bellamy and Lillian Gladys (Larraby) Mudge. At age 17, Stanley enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving proudly for over 20 years attaining the rank of senior chief petty officer. He had specialize­d in submarine periscope optics while in the Navy; so following his military retirement, he continued that work as a civilian with McLaughlin Research Co. and later worked for Mohegan Sun.

A dedicated family man, he had been active coaching soccer, baseball and softball while raising his children. Stan also loved computers, reading science fiction and golfing.

He leaves his loving wife, Mary (Jamison) Bellamy; their four children, Kahily Bellamy and wife, Nicole, of Bozrah, Tanya Peabody and husband, John, of Hamden, Porsche Bellamy of Oakdale and Stanley Bellamy Jr. and fiancée, Elaine Podzaline, of Norwich; 13 grandchild­ren, Devonte, Raekeem, Isaiah, Heaven, Caezar, Xzias, Kiana, Trey, Zakari, Malachi, Shyah, Lennon and Marseline; a great-grandson, Lord; two brothers, Wendell Bellamy and wife, Patricia, of Calabash, S.C. and Pastor Jerry Bellamy and wife, Donna, of San Diego, Calif.; a half-brother, Ronnie Bellamy of Pensacola, Fla.; and numerous extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was predecease­d by his sister, Lois DuBose; and three half-siblings, Georgia Freeman and Leland and Norman Bellamy.

The family will receive guests from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester. Services and burial will be observed in Rochester, N.Y.
