Montville — On Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, Tania M. (Jorkasky) Kinney passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her loving husband.

She is survived by her soulmate of 38 years, Steven T. Kinney of Oakdale; sons, Sean M. Kinney of Las Vegas, Nev. and Mitch R. Kinney of Oakdale; parents, John and Mary Jorkasky of Oakdale; and sister, Dawn M. (Jorkasky) Davies and husband, Evan, of Lucas, Texas. She is also survived by many family members (aunts, cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews) living in California, Texas, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Australia, England and Scotland. Tania also leaves behind many dear friends and co-workers.

Tania was born on a bright sunny day in the beautiful country of Scotland in the United Kingdom. She spent the majority of her early childhood in Hawaii and Scotland and the remainder of her life (with the exception of 13 months in Hawaii) in southeastern Connecticut. She was a 1983 graduate of Montville High School. Tania worked as a professional in the medical field for most of her adult life.

Tania had an extraordinary fondness for her homeland, Scotland, and a very special place in her heart for Hawaii. Her utmost pride and joy was her family. Her favorite pastime was relaxing on the beaches, hiking the trails and simply enjoying her life in the paradise of Hawaii. She will be remembered lovingly (and dearly missed) by all who had the pleasure and privilege of knowing her.

Visiting hours will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen, Uncasville. At Tania’s request, the burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Tania’s memory may be made to any cancer organization of your choosing.
